The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology published a study this month and its conclusions we emphasize that regards olive oil as a great ally in the fight against obesity.

In a study which involved 7,500 men and women with multiple risk factors for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, were assigned diets for a period of 5 years included amounts of olive oil in excess.

After this period the result showed that although fat intake in the diet was superior, it did not become greater weight gain, obtaining evidence in some cases with less weight gain.

And it is that all fats are not created equal, and the properties of olive oil not only help reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke but also reduce the risk of the major epidemic of our century, overweight.
